Let's begin with the 2nd. Our founders gave Congress control of the state militias. The Constitution says the militias must follow the regulations created by Congress and be trained by the states using those regulations?

Why? Because the Constitution also forbids a standing army longer than two years. It also says Congress can call the militias into active service, after which the prez becomes their commander in chief.

If our founders feared the government they created why did they give the government absolute power over the militia? The 2nd is very clear as to why it exists. "A well-regulated militia......" When you're regulated, I'll call you the militia. Until then, WTF do I call you? It's not the militia.

When it comes to the budget, I don't see how anyone can ask Democrats to raise the taxes needed to fund the government when the gop spent decades convincing people everything is free, but not only free, but they get money back from the government even when the government has to borrow every single penny of that money.

The US will collapse. And we'll blame republican tax cuts/debt. It's easy to do...watch.

As I pointed out in another discussion our GDP and debt are growing by almost the exact same number. If you know anything about economics, the multiplier effect means every dollar is spent more than once so we're not getting anything from all the debt....other than the illusion of growth. We should have significantly higher GDP.

$2.6 trillion of debt under Trump (as of Aug), US Treasury
$2.1 trillion of GDP (as of April) St. Louis Fed (download data, google subtracts the numbers for me)
