Randy: RE: Voice Recognition Software & CPU specs

You'll get more information from others, but the IBM demonstration in Circuit City said you would get 140 wpm. Not bad.

My son brought home his Dragon software over Christmas and we were impressed with it even though he had to give the demo on our old Pentium 133 with 32 MB. I believe the package stated that it needed a minimum 166Mhz. We all know that the minimum is never enough!

This is definitely something that will influence my next PC purchase. At school the software is helping with his papers and email and all sorts of things, although he still goes back and enters equations and such by hand. Since I don't have the technical writing he does, I think I could use it for most everything.

Yes, anyone with RSI (or without it) has to smile as this stuff just gets better and better! Intel investors smile even wider <VBG>

Hope someone with specs in hand will give you more information and that your mother gets new software soon!
