I, for one, am very happy that we nuked the Japanese during WWII. I'm not a big fan of uncontrolled fission but my father was on the USS Massachusetts anchored off the Japanese coast. He and several thousand other sailors were training on the deck in hand to hand combat. The goal was to take the first hit during the invasion and let the Marines come in and clean up.

If you have ever been to the Los Alamos labs in New Mexico you get a pretty good idea of what transpired during this era and the horrors. I think it was a necessary event - one to end the war and another to show the world 'hell on earth' in hopes that it wouldn't happen again.

I believe the bombing did save lives, it did mine.

I also believe you will never see Clinton impeached for such a trivial
event.
