Oak to divest PC audio/graphics interests

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan 22 (Reuters) - Oak Technology said Thursday it plans to divest interests in PC audio and graphics
businesses as part of a strategic decision to focus on its three core markets of optical storage, consumer electronics and digital
office equipment.

The company said it is actively seeking interested parties for the PC audio and graphics business.

''Our PC audio and graphics businesses combined accounted for less than 5 percent of this quarter's revenues and
approximately 20 percent of operating expenses,'' Oak Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Tsang said in a statement.

''The audio and graphics semiconductor markets are highly competitive and we believe they offer limited opportunities for
Oak,'' he said.
