Pro-Trump Website Altered British Reality Star's Photo To Give Him A Trump Hat

Conservative News Daily changed Rykard Jenkin's photo to make him look like a Trump supporter. He was not pleased.

Rykard Jenkins, a former contestant on the British reality show “Love Island,” discovered on Friday that a pro-Trump website edited one of his Instagram photos to make it appear he was sporting a Trump campaign hat.

According to The Hill, Jenkins tweeted about the discovery with side-by-side images showing the alteration, writing, “Woke up this morning to know I’m the new face for the 2020 @realDonaldTrump campaign ?”

As of Monday afternoon, the doctored image was still live on the website Conservative News Daily, which features numerous photos of people wearing an unofficial Trump 2020 hat.

The Hill noted that Jenkins is described as one of "our happy customers."

The reality TV star said he was notified about the image by a fan and was “really surprised,” particularly because he does not follow U.K. politics, let alone engage the American political scene.

But his tweet didn’t sit well with some people across the pond, he said.

"I made a joke and I got a good 5,000 Americans saying 'how can you say that?' and I was like, oh my god, I didn't think it would go anywhere and now it's this massive political conspiracy,” Jenkins said.

"The only thing I could complain about, it's about altering the pictures and making them look like they have a political agenda," Jenkins said. "For example, if that picture had been edited to have Gucci on it, it wouldn't matter would it?"
