Look at that plane, Wharfie. It doesn't have a range larger than a few hundred miles. Unless you're island-hopping, it's utterly impractical except for rich folks who can afford to take flights over short distances.

It's terribly inefficient to lift that much weight into the air.

Of course, the article states, "When battery efficiency improves," but I'd be rich if I had a nickel for every time I heard that catch-phrase. OF COURSE it depends on battery efficiency. There's a reason why fossil fuels dominate today's world, because nothing can match its energy density.
