The problem with Quora is any idiot can speak out of ignorance with total authority. Sure. The same thing crosses my mind when I read one of your posts where you assume the mantle of authority. With no links. This is one of them. This was a negotiated arrangement without which there would be no Union. Period. You don't know that. The Articles of Confederation had led to a failed state. The reality is that if the states split up, there was a very real risk that Great Britain would take them back. And might not even need force. Not to mention France would have been happen to pick up one or more of the states. Heck, maybe even Austria or Prussia. The point the poster was making is that it is surprisingly easy for a President to just wipe his ass with the Constitution as long as a small percentage of the country is happy to let him. There is no way the Founders envisioned anything like that. And yeah, it will be hard to fix. But that is a piss poor excuse not to start.
