Ft Knox, don't need it. We call it Canada. We keep our reserves, and I'm talking the proven reserves, in the ground. As I'm sure you can appreciate, Canada has more OIL than Iraq & Iran. And we store it in the tar sands. Canada hides it's gold reserves by placing them in parks... and than refusing other rights to mine them.... kinda sneaky ain't it!

And now Canada is letting our dollar drop, so that when yours crashes, we can come in a scoop up all that you own.... Just kidding, can USA spare some cash, so that we can buy back our gold.

PS: I'm looking for historical GOLD prices from 1970 - 1996 inclusive.

Good Darned Question Ole 49r.Re:Northern Fort Knox........

Don't know the answer..ain't that a gooder.<g>Will look into it.
I'm also looking into Canada'a gold holdings and past sales etc...
Hard to find stuff so far.........

Yes,was aware(to a degree) of our rating...which is something some
analysts cite when speaking of our economic health. The Prime Minister
is saying we now have " The Best Of Both Worlds " with the dollar
hitting an historic low today.Good for exports..low inflation..bla bla
Guess we (Canada) won't have ta worry about " cross boarder shopping "
for awhile.ha ha ha....I call the loonie the " Northern Peso ".Many
are attributing the slde to our resource based economy, you are correct
in that an increase in price/demand will help.No one appears to sound
worried at this point................I won't be taking any vacations
any time soon where an exchange is necessary to USD.

Now if GOLD would just smarten up eh.......still hangin in there....

Later

ftp.bank-banque-canada.ca - They show us pictures of the gold, but they don't tell us where it is -g-

ftp.bank-banque-canada.ca - home page

There was a time about 20 years ago when we had 20 million ounces, more than an ounce per capita. Now there's around 30 million Canadians, and we have about 3 million ounces. The loonie's down, and we can't figger out why.

Ole 49r

**OFF TOPIC**

<<That extends to you all from "up there" as well, as Canada has been a good friend to us "southerners!!!">>

Thanks ... my father flew in a bomber (at the ripe old age of 18) for 36 missions .... my father-in-law flew a Spit .... got shot down and spent 2 years in a German POW camp.

Sorry to hear about your son, hope that he recovers and enjoys life again one day soon.

Take care,

MB
