So what? Compare those 47 nuclear plants to all the green energy growth in the world!! And solar is three times cheaper than nuclear. Nuclear is around .15 per KWH and solar is around .5. And you want to build nuclear power plants that are 3 times more expensive now and under ideal conditions up to 50 times more expensive as I remember. The industrial buildup and stimulus of WWII is what allowed us to prosper in the 50's and to pay down our sky high debt from the war and peoples personal debt from full employment - Krugman. So what if we do the same thing with the Green New Deal? To reiterate What if you take the billions you would need for nuclear, and the lead times, and compare them to a multi billion dollar grant program to the states, to fund green energy, solar and wind, etc? We could fund endless home and corporation solar panels and wind , etc, for energy with in kind grant programs. Right now solar is cheaper than any other energy source, including natural gas in California, which has a shit pot load of it, and three times cheaper than nuclear, and then work out the benefits of time saved! Lead times, dangers and other problems. <<
