**OFF TOPIC**

I don't need to be an attorney to understand that opinions posted on an opinion board on the Internet are protected speech under the Constitution.

Not necessarily true.

At risk of starting a debate on Freedom of Speech, the First Ammendment-Freedom of Religion and Speech describes such freedoms, not as ABSOLUTE freedoms, but conditional freedoms; almost privileges in a sense. There are many ways to analyze this "freedom," but not all speech is protected under the Constitution. There are such things as Clear and Present Danger which make a knowingly-false statement of "FIRE" in a crowded movie theater, a criminal act. Try saying in public, "I want to kill the President" and see what might happen to you. (bu-bye)

Personally I think most of what's said on SI (excluding TOS violations) is harmless banter. At this point and time, our government is having a terrible time deciding how it's gonna regulate the Big-I. It's not IF, but WHEN. As participants in any "Internet chatroom" each of us must shoulder the risk inherent to this medium.

Their are no "innocent" players on here, IMO. Just another reason why YOUR OWN due diligence is critical.
