NEW YORK, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Gateway 2000 Inc will hold a teleconference at 1830 EST/2330 GMT to be hosted by chairman and chief executive Ted Waitt. Gateway, a maker of personal computers, is scheduled to report earnings after the close, but a spokesman for the firm said the conference call would relate to matters separate from the company's earnings report. The spokesman declined to comment further on the content of the teleconference, which is slated to run 20 minutes. Shares in Gateway eased 1/16 to 33-11/16 in Nasdaq activity on Thursday. Wasn't Compaq just talking about what they were going to do with all that cash? Grow, Aquisitions? John
