OT: Interesting and that has never occurred to me, but the vastness of space and distances involved make me skeptical of us finding intelligent extraterrestrial life.

The most likely form of alien life roaming the space is an AI. Think of all the advantages that a truly intelligent android has over humans for space travel.

Or as a hybrid race such as the Borg from Star Trek. It might be the only path to prevent total AI and machine dominance.
