OK ... I am a very experienced gardener ... this year my melon crop told me the weather... (among other things)

Early summer squash was good.. zucchini, crooknecks, patty pans etc .. They explode in July which was pretty hot in Toronto but not exceptionally so... and wind down through August

others like my winter squash and Chinese melons like to explode in August heat.. which didn't really show up .. so they were a sub par group this year... Just following nature here :))

was a good year for cool weather crops
