Just a thought on the acquisition front (I guess I have to do this every time the stock weakens):

1. As we all know, ASND mgmt consistently has said that 1Q and 2Q sales increases will be in the single digits. Not until 2H98 (first reported in October) do we see double-digit revenue growth. The single-digit growth has to have a tendency to restrain the share price.

2. At the CC, mgmt. gave a 10% growth rate number, below the number stated in Scottsdale (15-20%). This, too, has to restrain the share price. Again, all of the "big" growth is to be reported in October.

3. Given the timing of when the big growth occurs (first reportable in October), one could argue that the stock price intentionally is being restrained pending a deal with LU to be announced in October. In the meantime, why not open a new HQ in LU's NJ home base (as ASND just did)?

P.S.1 Why no reference to the size of the Telewest deal?
P.S.2 Why no reference to the size of the China Telcom deal?
P.S.3 Why was most of the info. on the Williams deal announced by Williams?
