What is Trump's greatest weakness as president? Jon Bourgetti, former RN, MS Absolutely without any doubt Trumps greatest weakness as president is his pathological (dangerous) paranoid narcissism. Trumps consuming self love crippled him in every endeavor. He thinks he knows everything which prevents him from learning anything. Trump was not the slightest bit interested in the text of the United States Constitution nor the Bill of Rights once he was elected. This cost Trump constant frustration. Trump was constantly coming up with harebrained ideas his first year in office, only to be told by an advisor “You can't do that because it's unconstitutional.” When Trump was inaugurated, he had no idea whatsoever that the powers of the president were limited by Constitutional checks and balances. Trump thinks he knows everything which prevents him from listening to any of his presidential staff, resulting in disaster after disaster. Paranoid Trump thinks that people who merely, faIrly disagree with him have a suspicious secret agenda. This is why he fired James Comey - one of Trumps worst mistakes. He often concludes that anybody who disagrees with him is (fatally) “disloyal” and fires them. No president in US history had lost so many staff members in such a short period of time. Now. Sept 2019. Trump has ruined his cabinet and crippled his own intelligence gathering staff. Iran is running wild and there is nobody in the WH to clue King Ding Dong about what to do - now Trump shows himself to be a confused, uninformed weakling Trump's staff deeply resents being marginalized to the point of White House chairwarmers. They leak to the press in order to get Trumps attention when he sees the leaked story on the news. Sharpiegate, which cost the president four percentage points in his approval rating , was caused by Trumps pathological narcissism and his conviction that he's infallible. Trumps pathological narcissism makes him a complete sucker for the most ridiculously hollow praise from the Japanese, the British, North Korea, and his own sycophantic staff. Trumps pathological narcissism causes him to constantly bite off more than he can chew - thus leading him into desparate failure. Examples: every business venture since Trump Tower. Trump heavily overpaid for old beat up Trump Doral golf course with its crushing property tax burden - now it is failing so Trump desperately announces that the G7 will be held there hoping to rescue it. Trump is detached from reality. He is a legend in his own mind. Trump fully intends to make the 2020 election a referendum on himself - the same mistake he made in 2018 He knows no other way. Thus, Trump is doomed.
