Windows may work well in a corporation where such an ecosystem is required and professional support is available 24x7. For home users not so much. I have used Linux at home for over 20 years. It does its job without all the crap that Windows wants to sell. It is built and supported by intelligent people who don't have to listen to idiot managers. It is free and available in many variations suited to any need. Most people are just running Firefox or Chrome anyway so their attachment to Windows is more psychological than anything.
