I agree, trump will hang on as long as he can. Resigning would be failure to him. His ego won't let him do that.

The one way I think he might resign is if he starts to lose a lot of support in the Senate, which is possible. There are a lot Senator's up for re-election and trump has done very serious things that they might not be able to support for the sake of their own political future.

As usual, trump doesn't really think his crimes through very well. He's always relied on his ability to outlast and outspend his foes.

He's not prepared for the challenge ahead of him and there is a very strong chance that given his advanced age, the seriousness of what he has done, and the dogged nature of Adam Schiff et al, this will present a real problem for trump.

I like that dem's are moving full steam ahead on this. Don't give trump any time to get ready for or get used to what is going on.

We've already seen signs of his mental decline, this impeachment might greatly enhance this.

If Trump is impeached and convicted by the Senate early next year, what would stop him from running again in 2020? And if he wins, could he run again in 2024 since he did not finish his current term?

I think your opinion is in the majority. I disagree.

Trump is a con man. To do this successfully he has to control the media and the news cycle. So far, he's been able to do this nearly every day since he announced he was running.

Now, he controls only the nuts and we get to see who these nuts are. Fox news is one organization that rewrote the Biden story and used that rewrite to ignore the crimes Trump admits he committed. This won't go well for them.

He'll try to control the media again, but this time, the evidence is so overwhelming that I can't imagine they'd let him get away with it again.
