I listened to the CC and Kelly talked about a customer that they were ramping out of and then into again in 2nd half 99. Does anyone know who that was. I assume WDC. It sounds like the new architecture will be good. The 10% customer were Seagate and WD.

Comments as I listen
Manufacturing
Cirent - well above 50%
MiCrus -

Doesn't forcast any inventory write-offs.
Some of these analyst have their heads up their butts.

New DVD product (Kelly quote "gainbuster product").
In RCA webtv like product. I thought it was DEC 710 ARM.
Disk Drive channel had some accumulation, but not too bad.
Repositioning has caused some of the problems.
3GB and above no serious accumulation.
Now up is Drew Peck.
Cost reductions in decrete parts

Plans for $6.00 in cash. Asked about share buyback and Kelly would not comment.

Advance technology that really changes the rules in MS.

If you take out MS would they expect growth in 99?
growth in-line with industry in other divisions.
March quarter is not as robust as DEC quarter.

Alias Musa:
Primary shares declined. But this is the same as diluted numbers a required change.

Sorry about this mess but you might gather something from it if you don't call the conference recording.

analysts (and the co.) are calling for flattish eps in '99 vs. '98. I just hope they spend their $5.75 per shr. cash wisely!

Have the analysts revised the fy99 estimates? It was around .86 last time I checked.

It sounded to me more like the next two quarters were going to be relatively flat. Mostly due to the one hd design they lost out on (they never really did answer why they lost out on it though). I thought they said that things should pick up in the latter half of calender 98. I may have missed some information, I was doing other things while I was listening to the call.

If when they say relatively flat they mean around a quarter billion in revenue and around 15 cents in earnings, we should do very well towards the end of the year. They also said that quarter 4 (and maybe q1 too?) is generally softer. It almost seemed like they were hinting that the quarter will be similar to this quarter, kinda flat but not really too bad considering the traditional softness of the period.

Just my opinions, open to opposing views.
