<it's okay to let it go.> Yes, that would be very civilized and reasonable. This has been studied and politics involves the same centers as sports fandom - like those who cheer the underdog, express their utter surprise when the Cubbies don't win the pennant again ( and repeat the cycle next year). They have some wins under their belts and are emboldened. They won the Series this time - it doesn't matter that the Cubbies knifed the other pitcher, paid off the baseball commissioner and get to have 5 extra players on the field from the local mob office making quiet threats in the locker room. We Won!
