A very strong argument can be made that we need bankers who could keep stability in the market after the market collapsed. What's really sad is that boards didn't fire the CEOs and demand massive clawbacks. They're obviously as corrupt and inept at the CEOs they're tasked to oversee.

If the crash were an ordinary recession it'd make sense to have fired the bad bankers. But it's hard to put them in prison when we needed them to buy up banks that were collapsing.
