Steve,
Times were simpler on the boards when the Athlon came out.....
Speaking of which, I've seen an AMDroid revival thanks to Ryzen. Facebook, Reddit, Tom's Hardware, and Anandtech forums are all abuzz.

Despite me being an Intel fanboy, I kind of like seeing the old "Intel vs. AMD" debates revived. We're literally partying like it's 1999.

Plus in my current job, which is in a startup, I'm following the developments in the server cloud space very closely. A lot of our business model is predicated on the end of Moore's Law, but that could be postponed thanks to the revival of the Intel vs. AMD rivalry.

Who here is a college sports fan? You might be interested in the following:

California Governor Signs Bill Allowing College Athletes to Earn Endorsement Money

Should be interesting to see how the NCAA reacts, because there is no way that the current NCAA rules can coexist with California's new law. Schools in California now has a recruiting advantage over every other school in the nation.

Personally I'm on the side of the NCAA here. Yeah, I get it, schools make too much money off of the efforts of their student athletes. But the celebrity college athletes themselves aren't exactly suffering. If they want their endorsement money, they can skip college and immediately go pro. College is there so that they can learn and get a degree.

Besides, we've already seen the consequences of too much value being placed on college athletics. The school admissions scandal perpetrated by Rick "The Dick" Singer is one example. "Hey, we want your kid because she's good at tennis. Our tennis coach who is completely not on the take said so." No one checks later to see whether the kid actually continues playing tennis in college because the truth is that collegiate sports simply doesn't matter.
