It's because Dems care about personal rights and privacy far more than Republicans do, it's always been that way. Except for guns though. By God, you can't take any guns from Republicans. Facebook, being one of the worst offenders in that regard, has focused the ire of Democrats on them. It's a good thing.

All Zuckerberg cares for is profits at ANY COST. And he has shown what ANY COST means. He does not give a sh*t about the country, or the people. I'm all for shutting down facebook, not just breaking it up. The amount of hours people waste on FB for garbage is mindbongling. No wonder China is kicking our ass. Productivity is inverse to hours spend on FB.
