Yes, it's the quandary we're all in. It's going to kill the saver, the pension funds, the insurance companies, and banks. The Fed will respond with negative rates and QE. QE will morph from buying bonds to buying stocks eventually and the government will end up owning large swathes of US companies. What is the name of that political ideology where the government owns the means of production? Communism.

Everything about what the Fed is doing is pushing the 99% to reach back 70 years and reprise Socialism and Communism. The Fed is the bogeyman here. The sooner we end the Fed the better. If we don't, then the Fed will destroy our currency and our standard of living and we'll end up with a Socialist government at first, then a Communist government, and finally, a dictatorship similar to what they have in China. They say it can't happen here. But what they don't know about history is that Democratic Capitalist countries are rare and fleeting things. They shine very bright for moments in time, and then you blink and they are gone. It's why Benjamin Franklin said, "A Republic, if you can keep it," in response to a lady's question on what manner of government the Founding Fathers had bequeathed us.

May you live in interesting times, so said the ancient Chinese curse.
