<<<1. I have been through enough thick & thin (mostly thin) w/ Ascend since Sept. my fault however. Now, I am beginning to realize some gains from my investment and now there's all this market turmoil>>>

Ascend has given me a few sleepless nights due geting in at the mid 40's.
It's only for the weekly ups and downs and buying and selling of options that have allowed me to close in on my loses.

ASND is a good company. I really think it is a great company.

Keep this stock for 5 years, and you WILL make big bucks. But do we have the stomach for the ride.

Joe

[market timing]

Jeff --

I appreciate your taking the time to give such a thorough response. I've never experienced a major market crash the way you have --- had managers in '87 --- but I've ridden enough sector down-drafts to know I don't want to do it again. I'd much rather sit on the sides and miss a few points here and there. I took over my own accounts in April '95 and it took nearly six months before I realized stocks could go down as well as up. No one should have such bad timing. Friends and associates tried to warn me, but I had to learn the hard way. Fortunately I'm up 100% since then, but not without hitting 300% and then a demonic slide to about 0% in the interim.

This is my first experience with ASND. Amazing considering how many networking stocks I've owned over the past 3 years. I'll hold till ComNet gets underway and then decide. My instinct is to sell half and let the rest ride.

BTW, I'm attending the show and will report back if there's anything exciting regarding Ascend. If you have any questions you want asked, let me know.

Later --

Pat
