This is an aging joke--I mean a joke, that has some age on it and that you may already know. Or rather, I think, a true story. A mother who was moving into her mid-thirties decided that it was time for a greater degree of public modesty and told her little girl, "I think this summer I will buy a one-piece bathing suit." Her daughter worried about this some and finally asked, "Momma, which piece are you going to leave off?" (I sometimes have this unhappy fantasy of being made to appear on a comedy show and having all my jokes be stale.)
