RE: Better to stay on the sidelines until after earnings?

>> Remember, Truf, the mornings after earnings the stock may gap up 1-1.5 points before you can get in if earnings are good, however, it will open 3-5 points lower if your are wrong. The odds are better on staying away until after the announcement. <<

This is exactly the reason I've been giving for the extremely low volume the past few weeks. "Smart" investors waiting until after earnings to buy. Now the earnings are out.

The question of the day is: Will they wait another quarter to buy, or will they take advantage of this opportunity to load up? To answer the question with a question, has anything fundamentally changed about the company? [I say it has not.]

It'll be rocky (no pun intended) for the next few days and weeks, but I think IOM will be trading at more than double it's current values in less than a year.

I don't expect to learn anything from tomorrow or Monday. But if volume is moderate to heavy the rest of next week and a slighly upward trend is present, I think that'll be a sign that buyers who were waiting until after earnings are loading up. If those conditions don't hold...

Just my thoughts and ramblings. I'm going to listen to the conference call now. (I'm going to RecordIt!)

Williet -

I believe it's insane to even talk about a lawsuit. For heaven's sake, they missed earnings by one or two cents! Not exactly a huge disaster.

The only problem here is that too many people, myself included, expected more.
