<Once AMD can manufacture the K6-3D reliably with the 0.25 micron process, it will have a cost advantage. >

I don't buy it. I assume you are basing your statement on the belief that the K6+3D will have a smaller die size. This does not mean it is cheaper for AMD to manufacture. It's amazing how easy it is to simply wave your hand and say "Once AMD can manufacture the K6-3D reliably". What makes you think they will ever be able to manufacture any processor reliably? What is their track record? Do you think the K5 followed by the K6 are good examples of how easy it will be for AMD to reliably produce the K6+3D? I don't think so. AMD has demonstrated repeatedly that they cannot product processors reliably.Have you learned nothing from AMD's history?
I'd really rather talk about what is, rather than what AMD employees and zelots hope will be. AMD continues to lose money. AMD continues to have manufacturing problems. AMD remains 2-3 speed grades behind Intel and that gap may soon widen.
