Paul, Thanks, I knew they did something like that, but not just how. So they have a sea of FPGAs and 'make it go', as Yousef would almost say.
As you say use a broken ruler, make broken parts, I wonder how many other errors are out there, unfound, as that particular combination was never tested.

How will they test even production line CPUs in a timely manner when they get into the 50 million transistor area?(in a few years) I can see just testing them could take time, unless they test them chip area by chip area and then do a fast all up and running test, and then rely on client based QC.
