Couple more Q497 Conference notes...

Backlog 4Q97 - $263M
Backlog 3Q97 - $379M

Finance VP (Purkis?) said he thinks the backlog is overstated due to various reasons... however, this means that only $379M-$263M = $116M of gross was covering backlog. This fill of the backlog was poor.

Attributed low revs to Asia and late release of new products (Buz, JazII, Laptop Zip). Laptop Zip was slow out of the starting gate because they *still* have component issues. Not good.

KE seemed to indicate Superbowl ads not taken off in Q497 but in Q198, so look for a couple mill hit there.

Regards,

mark_b

PS. Truff, it was obvious that someone wanted out before the report when it couldn't bust $12.50. Every time it got a little bit above that big share orders came through at the bid.
