Roscan Gold (ROS-V) has received assays of up to 3.82 grams of gold per tonne over six metres from the Moussala Nord area of its Kandiole project in Mali. The assays, from about three dozen holes drilled in the Moussala Nord and Mankouke areas of the property, produced several other noteworthy hits, including one gram per tonne over six metres at Mankouke.

The Mankouke result was unimpressive, so Mr. Isenor, president and CEO, reminded investors about two earlier discoveries in the area: 3.74 grams per tonne over 30 metres at Southern Mankouke and 8.86 grams per tonne over 14 metres and 8.63 grams per tonne over 10 metres at Central Mankouke. Those areas are slated for new drilling once the rainy season ends, hopefully before the end of the month.

Mr. Isenor says that these are early days for the project, as the Kandiole gold hits are coming from the company's termite anomalies, only half of which have been tested so far. (Termites can be a good thing to encounter, if one is a prospector. The bugs dig deep -- depths of 100 metres not being beyond their reach -- and they often return to the surface with bits of gold that end up in their mounds. It is not a core recovery system that Boart Longyear might emulate in its drill design, but it is certainly less expensive that what a reconnaissance drill program might cost.) In any case, Mr. Isenor hopes to have a resource estimate for the project "as soon as possible."
