Nope. It was driven by the fact that we get taken advantage of by every country we do business with. In this area, you have no idea what you are talking about. I used to run all the Latin American countries for my former employer. Tariffs were very high on US imported goods, but latam countries weren't charged nearly anything for their exports to the US. The same goes for China. The imbalance and lack of reciprocity is truly astounding. It's been a multi-decade siphoning of wealth out of the US to fund other countries and it is a criminal attack on the American people. Trump understands that and is seeking reciprocity with everyone we do business with. That's not just smart, it is common sensical and just plain fair. Why would it be fair for another country to have high tariffs on us and us not to reciprocate?

If you believe it's fair for other countries to abuse us this way, then I have a deal for you. I'll sell you my lawn mower for $500 and then you sell it back to me for $200. We'll call that $300 my tariff on you, which you seem to think is ok. I'd love to do business with you, man. Liberals are such suckers.
