Beautifully said, Rxbond. And according to the poll I ran here, all of us, but one, agrees with you.

It's time (past time?) to bring our troops home from those never-ending Middle East wars!

The fact of the matter is that America should withdraw from ALL foreign shores and leave other countries to sort out their own problems. No Country should be a Policeman for the rest of the world.

If America does find itself in another country it should be because she was INVITED for some good strategic reason. Any country that has a duly elected government, according to its own internal laws, is a SOVEREIGN STATE, and no other country has a right to set an uninvited foot into it, in the same way that America would not countenance ANY OTHER COUNTRY setting an uninvited, aggressive foot onto its soil.

It should be noted that America is part of NATO and according to that TREATY, which states that an attack ON ONE IS AN ATTACK ON ALL ITS MEMBERS, America is obligated to act. But apart from that NATO requirement, America should always act IN ITS OWN BEST INTEREST.

If America gets involved in a conflict it should be because she was attacked without provocation or warning and is defending herself and her interests, and no country on earth should be in any doubt that America WILL STRIKE BACK IN THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES AND WILL STRIKE BACK HARD.
