Christine, It is not public because Clinton made it public. It is public because of the Starr and court room leaks. these are equally repugnant because they are for political and personal gain. I suspect Billy does have an addiction but I am not certain that is the case. I am not morally sympathetic to 21 year girls sleeping with men whom thay call Smucko. This young women is old enough to know what she is doing and she has apparently benefitted from the White House experience. No doubt this is an embarrasment to his family. Although, I believe that he and Hilary must have an "arrangement". We hope for better for our daughters and sons. How about real love? Apparently, this has been hard to find for Bill. So I suspect he is settling for what he can get. Anyway there are few good role models in government today or for that matter for many years past. Most of the role models turned out to have feet of clay. This is a disillusionment to young people. the legal process in these matters is rediculous.

the way you originally wrote it made it sound like she was an intern while next to the oval office... go back if you want. how can you tell me you believe in discreet affairs in private and then say what Billy does in public.. was he caught with his drawers off, I guess I missed that news blip! Look, this guy is one of the most monitored people on the planet. How the heck is the President going to be discreet when he has an army following him around since he first announced his candidacy? Now if perchance Hillary isn't doing her part, then what's he supposed to do, lock himself in a room and masturbate for six years? ... How would that go over?

Whatever the president does in private, he should attempt to be a reasonable role model in public. Be fair: Clinton himself has never sought to publicize any of his affairs. It's the women who talked. Flowers and Jones for money and publicity, Lewinsky out of fear and stupidity.
