I was out most of the evening but came back and read through all the posts. Wide divirgence of opinions. How many posters will be selling tomorrow? My guess maybe 5 of those who contribute. Sounded as though there will be more buyers. I am currently overly invested in iom, but if the price does drop into single digits or even 10 I'm going in deeper.

The news on cnbc that i could catch after the close was devoid of any iom news. GTW earnings got press and they repeated the GE pres conf.Did anyone hear any iom reports at all. No one seemed to post any news reports other than cc and street.com blurd.

imo i don't think holders will get hurt too badly. Obviously the news was out which explains, to me anyway, the lack of any strength in the price recently. The company, as stated is still making money and the price should stay above 10 after the open then settle at around 11. But obviously its just my opinion. There are no facts supporting it.

Thanks to all who listened to cc and reported. Thanks to all who provided opinions and thanks to those who refrained from bashing other posters.

Everyone get a good nights sleep. Tomorrow's roller coaster ride should be fun. and profitable if done right.

Sorry Allen, but I listened pretty closely. I sensed some
desperation. Why else the 100M+ advertising increase next
year? Why so worried about tie ratios?

They basically said: IF THIS CAMPAIGN DOESN'T WORK, IT'S ALL
OVER! What they are saying is that lowering prices is not
increasing demand anymore. (That elasticity I told you about,
and got blasted about before).

What they said is that they will sacrifice the future (lower
headcount, R&D spending) for this last ditch effort.

C'mon Allen, It's over!!!

The fact is (and no one ever believes this) is that the ZIP
disk is NOT a true 'razor blade' like the floppy. People buy
about 3-6 and stop. forever... People can't be shelling out
100 bucks every couple months. Plus, there is a point where
enough is enough!

Also, their product execution is starting to wear thin. How long
have you heard about the laptop ZIP? how long have they complained
about components? 3 years?? The Buz? etc.. They keep blaming others
for the fact that they are failing to execute.

American Sales

I cannot stress enough the importance of this one lone aspect of the report. Earnings only appreciated 23% in North America year to year. This has really bad implications for this year's outlook. If American sales are flat or even lose ground this year, the lack of Institutional Interest and Individuals selling will cause the stock will tank to the Pink Sheets.

The $100MM Iomega advertising blitz is indeed a Hail Mary, similar to the one John Elway will be throwing this Sunday as he desperately tries to get his Broncos back in the game with 1:17 left in the 4th behind 27 to 10. Elway will fail. Iomega will push more Zips out the door by blitzing the airwaves, but not make the margins they are used to. They will also draw attention to the rest of the field. SyQuest should see a bump in sales along with IOM.

TO ALL: Keep your head when everyone around you is panicking.
Did you buy this stock to worry about a short term
component problem or a slow down in asia... or for the
tremendous possibilities, tie ratios from oem's and notebooks,
Buzz, Click, etc.? As said previously, IOM is a marketing
company with fabulous products... let them loose. Steve

What was the deal about having to re=qualify OEM's everytime Zip costs came down? Is this a result of the changes made to the new, lower cost drive?
