So what would you have to hear to have you change your mind on sun spots as a proxy or that we have entered a cooling trend ?
EVIDENCE of a cooling trend due to sun spots.

Here is what bothers me about the Sunspot theory. Most of the evidence for it and other theories is that it is based on history, mostly before 1900.

They pooh-pooh man's contribution to the problem. It is beneath them to consider it... but they forget man's effect on the ozone layer 25 - 30 years ago... it was the increase of chlorofluorocarbons that were collecting in the atmosphere that were identified as the problem.... the ban on those chemicals stopped the hole in the ozone layer and today it is pretty much back to normal

I have presented charts that show the GLOBAL rise in temperature and it began in 1900. I have shown the stunning rise in the levels of Carbon Dioxide which apparently now is at levels never before seen the last 1000 years.

I have presented evidence to support my position... Even a chart based on the Sunspot theory back in 2013 that predicted the cooling period to happen in the following years... did not happen... in fact the Earth temperature accelerated.

I have shown a chart that shows that the rise in global temperature and rise in carbon dioxide track each other.

You show me convincingly that these charts are all a lie and I might believe you.

Some places in the world are having wild temperature swings

The USA is seeing more snow further south more often. This is evidence to Americans that a cooling trend is occurring, but this is caused by a recent phenomenon called "Polar Vortex".

The cold Arctic air is held back by the jet stream... apparently rising temperatures in the Arctic weakens the jet stream and it dips into the USA bringing cold dry air in contact with moist warm air and causes snow to fall big time.

In Canada we constantly see the influence of the jet stream...when we are below the jet stream the weather is warmer when it drops below us the weather is colder... it is normal for us. The USA rarely sees the Jet stream fall below the northern USA States. So it is evidence of a cooling trend to them BUT they are ignorant as to the cause of the change of the jet stream or probably that the jet stream even exists.

Are sunspots that specific? I would expect sunspots would affect the earth's climate in general.

What is causing the warmer weather in the Arctic? It is not suffering a cooling trend!!! Glaciers are disappearing, Arctic sea ice is melting.... no evidence of a cooling trend there. Show me that Glaciers in a single part of the world are advancing or even stationary and not retreating maybe I would think there might be a cooling trend coming.

It is crystal clear that the rise of CO2 in the atmosphere is related to the rise in the earth's temperature. The chart I showed demonstrates it. Back in the pre-1900 years where there was little change in the CO2 levels perhaps sun spots had some effect on Earth's climate but man's pollution is trumping those effects now.

Yes, the weather is wild right now, Manitoba, Canada has just been hit by a huge storm...unprecedented... I doubt very much that sunspots played a roll in this never seen before storm.

Show me HARD evidence not historical records of pre-1900 when man's influence on the atmosphere was little if any.

As we are constantly reminded in investing in stocks..... past performance does not necessarily show the future.performance
