The part of the announcement about GPUs says: "Collaboration platform with 4 x compute nodes attached to 16 x Next Generation AMD GPUs" I'm not sure what "collaboration platform" means, so it is a bit unclear whether the whole system is configured like this. On the other hand, the statement about performance may have referred to the CPU performance only just to make a fair apples-to-apples comparison. In other words, "among the fastest fully general purpose (CPU only) systems" may simply mean there are larger and faster special-purpose GPU-based systems in operation.
