The solution I found to the "house burning down problem" was not to store gasoline in the basement. I dug a remote trench for it with a locked hatch on top. . It wasnt that hard to figure out.

The issue raised by WR was that the power cuts effected gasoline cars as much as electric cars. I guess both types of cars can be fixed with a generator, but power cuts are easier with gasoline cars and less generators are needed.

Rat doesn't have storage. If the power goes out, he reads by daylight, and goes to bed early.
