Lizzie is touting WEALTH TAX, because "the wealthy live off that wealth."

So do a lot of retired people who worked, saved and invested their whole lives.

I suppose that their argument will be that the tax doesn't kick in except for the ultra ultra wealthy.

But then time, and even changes in regulations tend to bring that limit down so that it affects the middle class.

It WILL.

Just look at the AMT.

It even affected me long ago when I was poverty level.

Besides the mega wealthy will have ways to hide their wealth.

And one thing I don't see discussed anywhere -

how will it be determined how much wealth a person has?

Thinking of some elderly people who lived meagerly and then passed away and it was a found that they were extremely wealthy...

So now you and I who are no where near mega rich, - but who knows we may have assets acquired or quietly inherited or obtained somehow -

will have to fill out forms with our taxes detailing out assets

besides the obvious how much $$ we have in our bank,

how much our homes and investments are worth,

how much gold and silver (got coins from before 1965?) we have;
we need to get appraisals of our collections and jewelry

and what about that piece of junk art we bought at the Salvation Army that turned out to be a Picasso and we didn't pay taxes on it for how many years?

We will have to prove to the govt somehow we do not fit their category

Do we want the govt to have this sort of information (and how "private" will it be?)

I will not say anything about gun collections and their value...

(and who will want to win the lottery? Just saying...
I won the lottery! Yay! I can buy 5 more tickets with that!)
