Robert,
Near my home in Pennsylvania is a huge outlet complex. One of the larger stores in what I would describe as an upscale big name brand complex is the Sony outlet. Now, I don't know how honest the "refurbished" markings on the boxes are, but they move product at a rapid pace out of that store.
On the other hand finding a Zenith dealer requires going to usually a mom & pop store which carry competing brands. In most cases these stores or electronic departments are buried in an area not convenient or when in a department store they are hidden between the linens and furniture.
The trend now is for either mega stores, or outlets to move product. My concern is can Zenith with the (fully priced) mom & pops compete with these guys. People today want value, but are they really going to pay for the name. I know they buy Sony because of the name, but more so at the outlets for the price or discount concept.
Has Zenith appeared anywhere within an outlet complex or are they concerned with protecting the mom & pops, which is of course something to be considered as well? Not having a major superstore like Circuit City nearby I wonder if Zenith is a good selling brand within that type of store?
