But your second statement above seems to be a disproof of the first by contradiction (in logical terms). I think people can believe anything they want ... but public policy can't be based upon such principles - although we see it in the secular world e.g. "banks are too big to fail". The government has the power of fiat currency and the banks simply run a skimming operation. They provide a useful function in western societies but clearly as the S&L debacle shows us - no they aren't so big they can't fail. What is actually true is that their wealthy owners assure that their personal wealth is dependent upon, yet detached from, and independent of, the magnitude of the wealth they skim a piece from. This fallacious thinking seems to be characteristic of human social institutions, which mostly set their principles on articles faith of some kind. JMHO.

Seriously - you believe this? why is your god any more valid than the other 175,000 gods that we have had in human history? There is this magic dude who you can not see who grants wishes if you only wish hard enough and truly believe. A god who has a hissy fit and floods the entire planet? If there truly was a god his rules for getting to heaven would not be the garbage they are. The rules would be Bad people get sick. assholes have body parts fall off until they are no longer assholes really bad people die. Nice people live long lives. You live long enough you would become a believer As it stands right now the god you believe in is a rational as Trump. Either that or he is having a 6000 year long nap.
