I was and am plenty dysfunctional, and my childhood was not perfect. But compared to many kids I went to middle school and high school with - I was extremely privileged. We must level the playing field at a young age FIRST AND FOREMOST. The savings in social costs will pay for affirmative action and cheap public college for all, and beyond for justly merited students of all races and classes. And of course, the estate tax should be much more reasonable and targeted to education to keep wealth growing for the next generation to share, not just a fewer-few.
