Hopefully they never get back to "running the country". We ought to pay the jerks to stay home and quit bothering us.

Holly, you have a little practical wisdom about you. The tabloid/soap atmosphere of reporting is very different than Huntly Brinkly was... or for example PBS today, where there's an effort to tell the news without getting into sensationalism and inuendo. The whole thing reminds me of how we used to watch the English tabloid press with stories of political scandal... it seems undignified and trite to dwell on these issues to the exclusion of more important news.

Yesterday I got a kick out of watching Arafat's face during the question and answer period. First there was a question of how many thousands more would die in the PLO/Israel duel, when and how would peace come about.. then the next question is asking the President if he gave a dress to one of his secretaries... Arafat adjusted his earpiece as if the translation wasn't something being piped in from Saturday Night Live.
