Also, anyone care to speculate on the effect of the Visigenic
report on Borland tomorrow? My guess (assuming a neutral
background market) is about a 1/4 to 3/8 pop.

Well, how about a small pop like a bubble (of hope) bursting.
Judging by the open, the 'Street wasn't happy enough with the
increased VSGN revenue to offset the misgivings over the still
negative earnings.

Some companies just seem to have no luck with acquisitions. Like
Novell for example: they bought Digital Research - last we ever
saw of DR-DOS. Then they bought Unix from AT&T - result zero,
no new Unix for PC to challenge MS. Then WordPerfect - almost
killed a good product (saved by sale at great loss to Corel).

Is Borland under same curse? Took over Ashton-Tate, big floundering
whale almost swamped canoe. Bought PharLap I think - just in time
for demise of DOS-extender. Remember TurboBasic, TurboProlog?
Products acquired - I think - (not developed in house) later
dumped, never heard from again. (Someone was dumb enough to buy
them?) OK, old pre-Del history, but can he escaped this fate?
WS seems unsure.

We need Darth Yocam to finger the analysts' collars and mutter
"I am disturbed by your lack of faith...".
