I hesitated putting number 3 out there because I knew it would be confusing, and it really does not apply to the public. I decided to add it for two reasons. The first being accuracy and the second has to do with questions I have received before. Have you ever seen a deep in the money call spread ($5 between the strikes) trade a large amount at a $5? Usually in these situations, each party will exercise the calls and, assuming the stock gained from exercising exceeds their short position, they can sell stock long.
