I bought a cheap keyboard today, only because the old one was dirty.

Modular stereos when I was a kid affect my electronics attitude even now.

The old style docking stations are now dead. What you get now is effectively multiport hub - it will add a couple of digital ports, several USB ports, and even convert standard power supply to USB-C, should you need it. All that, and it will take a lot less space than the old docking stations.

You can also use a wireless keyboard and mouse that will save your laptop from food and drinks.
