Gary - Re: " High Performance Addressing (HPA) which they said is almost as good as TFT. Do you feel that it is as good TFT?"

No way! It is still a passive display with image ghosting, cursor disappears as you drag it - because the LCD display can't refresh itself at a fast enough rate.

Colors are also muted - nowhere near as bright and crisp as a good TFT/Active Matrix display - as used in Compaq's more expensive notebook models.

One problem Compaq may have with the K6 is power consumption. The extra power dissipation of the K6-233 MHz (8 watts ?) may remove the "power budget" from the notebook that could have been alotted to the Thin Film Transistor/Active Matrix Display. The comopbination of the two may have reduced battery life to unacceptable levels.

Again, this K6 notebook seems to be targeted at a more cost-conscious market as opposed to a quality/performance market segment.
