Brains need reduced deceleration not a hard, rigid, helmet. So a large diameter afro would be better than a hard crash helmet close to the skull. A large turban would be better. Best of all is Mq's wig helmet which provides hard protection against sharp objects, soft deceleration against impacts, fire protection, warmth in cold climates or in sea water or cold lakes, can hold electronics for hands free mobile Cyberspace including 3D Google glass type retina scan for virtual reality.
