I guess my view differs from yours - the increased R&D spending was absolutely no surprise to me, based on my taking the time to read the co.'s prior SEC filings and press releases. Why should have the analysts been so in the dark?

I would submit that the Street overreacted, with their own lack of solid research and ability to look further down the road than the end of their collective noses as being the culprit behind the dramatic drop.

IMO, the long-term is by no means diminished. The current price levels present a great entry point, not an indication of any kind of failure by mgmt. to execute its business plan.

As far as the CNBC segment, you are likely correct in that the co. was not done justice, telling its whole story. But...I've seen Mark Haines take down bigger men before, so what can you say? Unfortunately, in the world of 3-4 minute interviews, only very small pieces of the whole pie do often get displayed. Maybe mgmt. will learn from this experience and do better next time.
