Doug at spaceweather.com if you look at sun spot #s top left it leaves a newbie a bit confused . Year 07 , 08 and 09 had high % days with out spots . Did not transfer to cold as our most recent stretch has .

Looks like a trend line break on a chart ? Does the sun signal a move like this or is it due to something else ?

It's the East's turn now.
The well below avg. temps in Oct. for the Midwest were pretty cold.
November's already a colder month than Oct. so the outsized anomalies on the way for Nov. will be more than just "pretty cold".
This will be, among other things, The Winter of Frozen Pipes and Mains.
