Yes, Herr Hitler was quite popular many places up to Stalingrad or so. Same in Sweden, traditionally with close ties to Germany and in particular so at higher class levels. By end of WWII or at least just days after it ended, like 50% of the Danish male population were all active 'freedom fighters' ... The only Scandinavians, who really fought against the Nazis on Allied side during WWII were the Norwegians.
